Common Questions from Our Riders

OUR TEAM OF BACKCOUNTRY EXPERTS HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS OF HOURS IN THE BACKCOUNTRY TO PROVIDE YOU WITH THE BEST KNOWLEDGE OF THE SURROUNDING AREA

  • WE ARE A SELF-SERVICE ATV/UTV RENTAL COMPANY: Meaning we provide everything here in town to ensure you have the best experience possible. This unguided service means endless possibilities for exploring the San Juan Mountains!

  • WHAT IS PROVIDED: 2023 Polaris Sportsman 570 EPS Touring ATV(s) OR 2023 Can-Am Maverick DS Turbo 4-seater, a trailer, 2" ball hitch, tie-downs, helmets, a first-aid kit and a detailed easy-to-read trail map of the surrounding area. *We also have truck bed ramps for quick and easy loading/unloading*

  • REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION: Valid Drivers License, Valid Credit Card, Security Deposit, Completed Waiver (sent via confirmation email), and Proof of Insurance at time of pick-up (for tow vehicle).

  • WHAT TRAILS ARE WE ALLOWED TO GO ON: Anywhere allowing OHV vehicles. Vehicles are allowed on different trails depending on width. Please abide by trail signs for usage.

  • Who is responsible for damages to vehicles and personal bodily injury? As outlined in our waivers, renters assume all responsibility for personal injury and any/all damage that occurs to vehicles. *ONCE PICK-UP OCCURS, ALL RESPONSIBILITY RESTS SOLELY ON THE RENTERS*

  • What are Pick-up/Drop-off procedures: At pick up you will need to provide a valid drivers license, signed liability waivers BY ALL RIDERS and a $1500 or $2500 security deposit depending on which vehicle is rented.

  • What happens if we're late or get stuck? Drop-off times for all vehicles are 6pm on the return day. Any drop-offs past this time will be charged a $50 late fee for every hour past. GETTING LOST IS NO EXCUSE FOR BEING LATE. If you do get stuck and need assistance, an employee of Pagosa Mountain Rentals will be deployed at a rate of $50/hr.

  • Will we get lost? We will provide maps of the surrounding area with highlighted areas for the best possible experience and answer any and all questions at time of pick-up. We also provide Log-in information for OnXOffroad so you can see your location even when cell service isn't available.

  • Is there a weight limit? The weight limit for each machine is set by the manufacturer to ensure safe riding. Exceeding this will result in a damage charge based on wear from riders.

  • Can someone under 21 years of age operate while a parent is on the vehicle? Yes, someone 18+ years of age may drive with someone 25+ on the vehicle. *Both must provide valid drivers licenses*
